The Power of Worry Stones

There is nothing more powerful, more soothing and more deeply rooted in the human
soul than the feeling you get when you hold a special stone in your hand. We all love that
instant, sacred connection to Mother Earth which immediately reminds us that we are
all parts of everything that is and always will be.
Whenever a separation is pending that is hard for your child to deal with, whether it is
a family member who is going away on a journey or you simply have to leave your child
in daycare or at school, try this:
1) Go to a beach or a forest. It doesn't have to be for long, but make sure you have a lovely
time together with as little worry as possible.
2) Let your child choose a piece of rock, a stone that they like and want to keep. Now you
do the same.
3) One option is to swap stones, but not all children like this idea so either do that or keep your own chosen stones.

4) When it is time to separate, make sure your child has their little rock safely kept in a pocket. This will remind them of your day out and also of the fact that you will soon be together again. Tell your child that a small part of you will be with them all day, just as a small part of them will be with you all day. And in the evening, the stones will be together again.
When your child has a moment to themselves, they can hold on to the rock and remember that everything is okay.
